Stemulite Interview - Dr. Shorr on Lipoic Acid
Stemulite’s Lipoic Acid is in the Right Form for Muscle Repair
Interviewer:
So anyone seeking to improve their fitness or their overall ability to perform, for an example a weightlifter or an athlete, this product would be very important in their dietary regimen.
Dr. Shorr:
The Lipoic Acid in Stemulite is importantly in the right form to maximize not only the potential of muscle to generate and grow but also to repair itself if damaged and will also be beneficial to the nerves that are activating the muscles and to the blood supply by helping to remove those products which are produced during exercise which are considered toxic waste.
The bioavailability of Lipoic Acid as it’s formulated here is essential both during and after exercise. I think to expand on the potential benefits of Lipoic Acid as we have it formulated in Stemulite we need to address the overall scope of American health as it exists today.
We have young people who are striving to be in better health and maintain that health and we have people who are concerned as they begin to age and then we have people who have perhaps even chronic illness where they are looking for relief, perhaps from pain associated with arthritis or other degenerative diseases, and then we have people who are actually suffering from life threatening conditions.
Good nutrition is essential for everybody on that list. The types of molecules that we are including in our formulations and having them be uniquely bioavailable is critical, actually, to extending the period of wellness and even in correcting conditions where there is disease or pathology.
Interviewer:
So you’re saying we can sort of even set the clock back a bit by improving the function of the cell and the function of certain organ glands such as the pituitary that release growth hormone?
Dr. Shorr:
Yes. Lipoic Acid has been shown in diverse studies around the world to have an impact on a type of byproduct of just living, which is called reactive oxygen species.
These molecules are not just there as byproducts of the body’s own biochemistry but they actually serve as signal molecules telling the body what to do. In some cases the instructions that are delivered are to age or to become sick.
By Lipoic Acid interfering with that type of process the onset of disease, even if it’s inherited as a propensity for a particular disorder, can be delayed.
There can be an effect on diabetic neuropathy which is extremely painful and difficult and the aspect of formulation and bioavailability is fundamentally important. In 33 years of experience of developing FDA approved pharmaceutical drugs for some of the worst diseases known to man, one can take the same drug and formulate it one way and formulate it in another and have one that’s completely ineffective and another that makes the difference between life and death.
