Interview on Stemulite, The Doctor’s Chocolate, and Circadian Rhythms
Bev: It’s Bev calling from Ontario. With regard to the circadian cycle for the Stemulite, would it make any difference, I work an afternoon shift so I don’t normally go to bed until about 2:30, 3:00 in the morning.
And also I was wondering about the shelf life of the Doctor’s Chocolate since I’ve ordered four bags of it. I need to lose 75 pounds. I went through adrenal exhaustion and I’m now hypothyroid.
Dr. Summers: Oh, let me speak to the hypothyroid. The Indium, you have to watch your thyroid because it will increase your thyroid output. If you’re hypothyroidic, it’s going to increase that.
As for the circadian component, our evening tablet has a tiny bit of melatonin in it so if you’re going to bed that late you may just want to take the daytime, but I would recommend that you try to…
Bev: I sleep for seven or eight hours. I don’t have to get up in the morning.
Dr. Summers: As long as you can pull the blinds and get some darkness in there so that pineal gland is not stimulated and more melatonin is released I think you’ll do just fine.
Bev: My sleep is so poor.
Dr. Keith Scott-Mumby, MD, PhD: And so I’ll answer to the shelf life in the chocolate. Let me say very clearly and pointedly there are no preservatives, nothing artificial in this. I’m very strict about that. No fancy chemicals. What we don’t want is we don’t want it to have a shelf life.
So generally speaking it’s good for at least three months but a maximum of six months. You should keep it chilled and I think if you got four bags that says a lot. I think your four bags won’t last more than about nine or ten weeks. Maximum.
Bev: It better!
Dr. Scott-Mumby: It’s fine, but I think that’s about the limit. People are buying larger numbers of bags should be sharing them around and it’s better to reorder than buy a bunch and store them.
Bev: Thank you very much.
Dr. Scott-Mumby: You’re welcome.
Facilitator: Great. Enjoy your chocolate and enjoy your Stemulite.
