My friend and multiple co-author, Alwyn Cosgrove (of Men’s Fitness magazine fame) recommends these steps if you’ve reached a plateau in your fat loss:
- Reduce your calories another 250 per day – with the deficit coming only from carb sources.
- Increase activity 250 calories per day (any activity will do)
(With simple math we now have a 500 calorie deficit) - Your entire carb content of your diet should come only from vegetables.
- One day a week have a fat free carb free protein only day. This will also suck and will be a major caloric deficit.
- Switch your program around entirely (if you’re doing high volume go to one set to failure, if you’re doing 3 x 10 go to 5 x 5 etc).
